After gaining experience in advertising and design, she turned to photography, drawn by its ability to tell simple and authentic stories. Her work is marked by a search for truth and sensitivity, capturing everyday moments that are often invisible or overlooked.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In her series “Les femmes ont faim”, Anna Leonte Loron challenges stereotypes surrounding women and food. She captures women eating for their own pleasure, free from societal pressures. After several years working in advertising and design agencies,
\nwhere she was able to thrive for a time as a strategic planner,
\nplaying with words and images,
\nit was in photography that she truly found herself.
\nFor its aesthetic dimension. And its narrative power.
\nWhat drives her above all is telling stories.
\nStories in images and words.
\nSimple stories.
\nIn what they show, as much as in what they tell.
\nBecause simplicity demands truth.
\nIntimate stories.
\nBecause intimacy told simply, truthfully,
\ncan resonate somewhere.
\nIt can become universal.
\nIt can bring us closer.
\nTo the point of leaving no one in the dark.<\/p>\n

Her eye often lingers on what is considered a detail.
\nDetails of everyday life,
\nthat we rarely pause to see,
\nfor lack of time or out of modesty.
\nYet they have the power to awaken our senses,
\nto stir a memory or evoke an emotion.
\nThat, in her view, is what gives them their sensuality.
\nA sensuality capable of touching us.
\nWith film camera in hand, she captures it.
\nShe captures it to share it.<\/p>\n

“Eating and cooking”
\nare, for me, sources of pleasure.
\nAnd yet, there were those immense deprivations
\nand the satisfaction of seeing oneself shrink.
\nThere were the breakdowns, the kind that tear your stomach apart.
\nAnd the harsh returns to discipline.
\n\u201cThere were\u201d\u2014but from those repeated loops, traces remain.
\nTraces that will likely never disappear. That\u2019s just how it is.
\nThe sadness is seeing so many women around me
\nrepeating behaviors I know all too well.
\nEven my own little sister.
\nMy heart and fists clenched when I saw her that day.
\nMaybe it was already too late for her too.
\nAnd if we fail to ensure that our sisters have a relationship with food
\nbased on simple need or pure pleasure,
\nwhat will it be like for our daughters?
\nClosing my eyes to this topic has become impossible.

\nAnd to what extent images are to blame. In the collective imagination, women are
\nin the kitchen or serving others, but they don\u2019t eat. The ones we do see eating
\neither follow the rules of “femininity” by nibbling on a leaf of lettuce,
\nor tip into the pornographic genre by devouring a plate of spaghetti.
\nThey eat for the pleasure of the one watching.
\nAs a photographer, a woman, a big sister, and maybe one day a mother,
\nI wanted to make images of women who eat.
\nAlone or with their sisters. But always for their own pleasure.<\/p>\n
