Her practice examines the boundaries of \u201cnormality\u201d in society. Her work has been exhibited in New York, Rotterdam, Tokyo, Thessaloniki, Biella, Deauville, and Paris, and published in prestigious outlets including the HUMAN journal (Prix Pictet, 2023). In 2024, she took part in the Tremplins Jeunes Talents residency in northern France and will join a full residency at Villa Perochon in the south. From 2025 to 2026, she will participate in the photobook mentorship program at the Centre de la Photographie Gen\u00e8ve with Ann Griffin, developing a project into a book. Kate grew up under strict gender norms, facing an arranged marriage at 19, early motherhood, and undiagnosed depression shaped by World War I\u2014roles she never chose. Creative and intellectually curious, she was denied education and artistic freedom.
\nThrough staged self-portraits, archival photographs, revisited locations, and objects, Marie merges past and present. Prints are torn, stitched, and recomposed, turning time itself into both subject and material, reflecting the continuity and contrast of lived experience across generations.
