{"id":10338,"date":"2023-12-04T11:54:30","date_gmt":"2023-12-04T10:54:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pictofoundation.fr\/?p=10338"},"modified":"2023-12-05T12:42:40","modified_gmt":"2023-12-05T11:42:40","slug":"participer-a-la-quatrieme-edition-de-picto-lab-experimenter-limage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pictofoundation.fr\/en\/participer-a-la-quatrieme-edition-de-picto-lab-experimenter-limage\/","title":{"rendered":"CALL FOR APPLICATIONS 2024 : RESIDENCY PROGRAMME PICTO LAB \/ EXPERIMENTING WITH IMAGES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>AN EXPERIMENTATION AND CREATIVE RESIDENCY<\/strong> <strong>SUPPORTED BY A NETWORK OF EXPERTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PICTO LAB is an annual residency programme that offers a photographer an opportunity to experiment and create within PICTO\u2019s Parisian network of laboratories for three months (May, June and July 2024).<\/p>\n<p>For this PICTO LAB programme, Picto Foundation joins forces with various partners who provide support and help publicise the work carried out by the artist-in-residence. These partners are the <strong>Cit\u00e9 internationale des arts<\/strong>, the <strong>a ppr oc he salon<\/strong> and <strong>Fujifilm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>PICTO LAB aims to facilitate the development of a new project, in particular by allowing a photographer to test techniques and protocols and to use them in unexpected ways <strong>to go beyond or explore new potential avenues for photography<\/strong> and its formal rendering.<\/p>\n<p>PICTO LAB is also a space for the photographer <strong>to meet and make contact with professionals who can contribute to the development of their work<\/strong> or interact with the residency project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The call for applications is open to foreign artists<\/strong>. The laureate will be welcomed at La Cit\u00e9 internationale des arts, a residency centre in the heart of Paris that brings together artists of all generations to work on a creative or research project in all disciplines. If the artist does not live in Paris, accommodation is provided during the residency at the Cit\u00e9 internationale des arts. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the winner.<\/p>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The PICTO LAB residency is open to photographers who have been working for at least two years. It is to be noted that the jury will be particularly responsive to applications for which such an opportunity could be a real springboard in their career.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 PICTO FOUNDATION and its partners will support a photographer who has not yet been able to find the resources for experimentation, production and dissemination for the project submitted.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The photographer must be presented by a structure (art centre, institution, gallery, etc.) which is committed to presenting an exhibition or installation of the work produced by the resident in the calendar year following the completion of the PICTO LAB residency. This programme aims to extend a discussion around a project in the making, which, thanks to PICTO FOUNDATION and its partners, has the necessary means for experimentation and production.
