The 70th edition of the Ni\u00e9pce Gens d\u2019images Prize has just been awarded to British-French photographer photographer Ed Alcock. Ed Alcock est un photographe franco-britannique, n\u00e9 le 11 avril 1974, \u00e0 Norwich au Royaume-Uni. En 1999, il se voit d\u00e9cerner le prix de meilleur jeune photographe de l\u2019ann\u00e9e par The Guardian et The Independent. Il s\u2019 installe \u00e0 Paris en 2000 et devient correspondant pour le New York Times. Aujourd\u2019hui, il collabore avec la presse fran\u00e7aise et internationale dont
\nThe Economist, Elle, Le Monde, Le Nouvel Obs, El Pais.
\nIl est membre de l\u2019agence MYOP depuis 2011.
\nSes projets explorent les th\u00e8mes de la famille, de la transmission et de l\u2019identit\u00e9. Parmi ses s\u00e9ries notables, Hobbledehoy, Love Lane et The Wait. Dans Home, sweet home, il a pass\u00e9 quatre ans \u00e0 explorer les bouleversements provoqu\u00e9s par le Brexit. Sa s\u00e9rie St\u00e9rile est une chronique de la vie durant la pand\u00e9mie de 2020.<\/p>\n

“Ma pratique photographique s\u2019inscrit dans une exploration intime et narrative du r\u00e9el. Elle entend tisser des liens entre l\u2019individu et son environnement affectif, politique ou symbolique. C\u2019est dans cette zone poreuse, entre le documentaire et l\u2019auto-fiction, que je construis mes images, avec une attention particuli\u00e8re port\u00e9e \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re, \u00e0 l\u2019ambigu\u00eft\u00e9 des gestes et \u00e0 la narration fragmentaire<\/em>.” Ed Alcock<\/p>\n
