Guide

“Growing up involves negotiating inner truths with the world.”
The series “Guide” portrays young men wandering along beaches at twilight. It is within these ephemeral landscapes—fundamentally liminal spaces — that things become intangible and desire emerges.
The horizon, though omnipresent, becomes an internal element, marking a revealing divide for these characters. This feeling is tied to the experience of growing up on an island, a place where one is naturally inclined to look outward.
Something Uranian inhabits this impulse in the images of “Guide”—not in a quest for belonging, but in an attempt to transgress an invisible boundary.
Through these representations of masculinity, the subjects find moments of contemplative stillness amid the turbulence of youth, revealing a tenderness often lost in the rites of passage from childhood to adulthood.
