Finalists – Picto Fashion Photography Award 2026 : Sarah Carrier
Biography
Sarah Carrier, born in Québec and based in Paris, is a photographer and visual researcher exploring the intimate relationship between identity, environment, and the “portable archives” embodied in textiles. She began her career in music journalism for Les Inrockuptibles before directing global cultural programming at Maison Kitsuné for eleven years. This intersection of music and fashion allowed her to document creative communities and develop a style capturing spontaneous dialogues between people and their aesthetic universe. Since 2023, she has pursued an independent practice, combining narrative photography and research on nomadic communities, where textiles serve as vessels of history.
Confident Paris: The Ferber Session
Confident Paris: The Ferber Session is conceived as a visual jazz session, translating the rhythm of a recording into sartorial storytelling. Shot at the legendary Studios Ferber, an icon of French music since the 1960s, the series intertwines three aesthetic pillars: 1950s “Parisian Preppy,” the improvisatory spirit of jazz, and vibrant Caribbean elegance. Wind and string instruments transform models into performers, while the recording booth becomes a stage where garment architecture meets the studio’s history. Highlighting fabric, drape, and craftsmanship, the series presents three silhouettes—“Vintage,” “Florentine,” and “Parisian”—revealing textiles as portable archives of identity, blending textures and melodies into a cinematic homage to Parisian multicultural style.
