Finalists – Prix Picto de la Mode 2025 : Caroline Sénécal

Caroline Sénécal, originally from Normandy and a graduate of ENS Louis-Lumière, explores an intimate return to the landscapes of her childhood in “Le Temps Retrouvé”. Shot in winter, the series unfolds with a sensitive aesthetic—between rural nostalgia and a breath of freedom. The Norman countryside becomes the stage for a poetic narrative, shifting between lightness, melancholy, and bursts of joy. It’s a tribute to the connection to place, to the body, and to the art of re-enchanting the everyday without ever taking oneself too seriously.

Biography

Caroline Sénécal is originally from Normandy and now lives in Paris. A graduate of ENS Louis-Lumière, she focuses on fashion photography. Her interest in the body—and the mirror it represents—is central to all her series, whether in support of academic work such as her final thesis “The Body, Nudity in Fashion Photography”, in her editorials, or in her long-term projects about Normandy.

Le temps retrouvé

“Le Temps Retrouvé” is a series conceived as the return of a city dweller to her rural roots. Set against the landscapes of Normandy and the world of the farm, it unfolds in winter, a season where time shifts between radiant sunlight and joyful grey skies.
Between bursts of laughter and moments of melancholy, the colors reflect a state of mind—a longing for adventure, a breath of freedom, and a playful refusal to take oneself too seriously.
