Biography
Born in the suburbs of Paris, Florent Le Roux is a fashion and portrait photographer and filmmaker. At the age of seven, he began creating his own short films using a camcorder and HI8 tapes, accompanied by his childhood friends. These suspended moments became his escape—a space of freedom and self-expression that helped him navigate difficult times. He made a promise to himself to pursue this passion that brought him joy. At around 26, his very first fashion film, “Wildest Dreams”, opened the doors to collaborations with fashion designers and prestigious publications such as L’Officiel, Numéro, Vogue, and Vanity Fair. He expresses his gratitude to the art directors, models, designers, makeup artists, stylists, composers, and hair stylists who trusted him with their vision. Florent Le Roux thrives on blending video with photography, and scenography with music. It is his language, his way of expressing and experiencing life.
Let The Light In
“Let The Light In” is a photo and video series that celebrates fashion in all its dimensions — from garments worn on living bodies to intricate details, accessories, stitching, and textures. The creations are highlighted not only through the model’s presence but also via refined visual focus. This series seeks to spotlight the power of craftsmanship and the beauty of French fashion. It pays tribute to the meticulous, creative, and complex artistry of French ateliers. Whether in photography or video, light enhances the garments, while shadows sculpt the body — a subtle nod to the iconic Crazy Horse of Paris. These shadows, at times, give birth to fashion themselves. In one sequence, for instance, light and shadow dance across the model’s skin to reveal a Jean-Paul Gaultier outfit from the “Très Gaultier” collection — a white piece adorned with blue stripes and floral accents. Ultimately, this series aims to shed light on the collaborative artistry behind every image — from designers to stylists, hairdressers to makeup artists. It is, above all, a collective and creative expression.
