Since 1970, Les Rencontres d’Arles, founded by Lucien Clergue, Michel Tournier and Jean-Maurice Rouquette, has brought together the best of contemporary photography every summer. The photographs exhibited there are usually new productions.

In addition to the exhibitions, the festival, directed by Christoph Wiesner, offers a programme of screenings, meetings and debates, as well as various initiatives dedicated to photo editing and the famous Nuit de l’Année.
