Niépce Prize 2019 : Raphaël Dallaporta
Picto Foundation is delighted to announce the winner of the 2019 Niépce Gens d’Images Prize: Raphaël Dallaporta.
Nominated by Gabriel Bauret (author, curator and head of photography at the Ecole nationale des arts décoratifs de Paris), Raphaël Dallaporta, a thirty-nine-year-old artist, occupies an original place in the photography landscape. His unique work deconstructs photography to better reinvent its reasons and applications.
He belongs to this wave of independent contemporary photographers that Picto Foundation is committed to supporting as part of its programmes to promote, share and preserve photography.
In 2019, we continued our aim to share our experience with the winners and create a new artist publication. Picto Foundation offers the winner a grant of €10,000, half of which will allow the PICTO laboratory’s expertise to be used to create a limited-edition work, to be unveiled during Paris Photo.
