The PICTO LAB/ EXPERIMENTING WITH IMAGES residency, proposed by PICTO FOUNDATION, is for photographers whose work explores new forms of photography, regardless of the themes addressed.
The aim is to support them in producing projects involving specific, innovative, experimental or unusual skills. Considering photography and its authors as major witnesses of our time and the changing world, and conscious of the significant transformations facing the photographic medium, PICTO FOUNDATION aims through this residency to explore new forms of representation and image reproduction with photographers.
True to the position of the PICTO laboratory as a partner to photographers, PICTO FOUNDATION has set up a technical and human support system to enable the photographer to develop the protocols, tests and aesthetic and technical questions necessary to produce their project throughout the three months of the residency.
This year and for the launch of the first edition, PICTO LAB partnered with the Réseau Diagonal, a national network of venues for the dissemination and production of photography. This partnership consists of promoting the project of a photographer co-opted by one of the members of the Diagonal network. The creation and deployment phases of a creative project are multiple and, in this process, the members of the network commit to supporting the photographers, to facilitate their implementation from their first idea to exhibition.
